Health Value Score - HVS

The HVS represents a score that links the Quality Index (QI) with the Cost Index (CI) that was obtained during the evaluation process in a given period.

External References

This score is obtained from a set of standardized indicators for the Brazilian market, among the different areas of activity (e.g. Hospitals, Clinical Staff, Cooperative Doctors, Clinical Conditions, among others). In the medium and long term, it will be possible to obtain national references connected to ANS, ANAHP and other agencies or even bodies that bring together health institutions. This will allow for continuous work processes in the search for the best possible attention to patients’ needs.

Main objectives of using
do HVS

Among numerous possibilities for applying the Health Value Score, we highlight some:

Evaluation and/or value-based payment (VBP) of doctors and health teams.

Evaluation and/or value-based payments (VBP) of hospital networks.

Evaluation and/or value-based payment (P4P or GBP or Capitation) of Health Units or ACOs.

Value-based assessment and/or payment (Bundles) for specific clinical conditions with or without shared risk contracts.

What is the Quality Index

QI* = Unique composite indicator of 0-100 generated from the grouping of indicators in the dimensions of Quality: Structure, Process (Efficiency), Result (Outcomes and Patient Experience). By default, it is weighted at 70%:: • Result indicators weighing at least 70% of the QI. *2iM’s “QI” has already been applied in 2011 since it has been evaluating more than 40 thousand doctors in dozens of hospitals and operators.

The sum of the dimensions = 100. Within each dimension there may be specific indicators by specialty or group assessed. Within each dimension there may be specific indicators by specialty or group assessed. Sum of these indicators = dimension weight.

What is the Cost Index

CI = Single composite indicator of 0-100 generated from the grouping of indicators related to the cost of producing the services depending on the perspective. By default, it is weighted at 30%:: • Contribution Margin • Revenues • Average ticket Calculations from TDABC.
